The
core of EASY BY VOICE is the voice recogniser. The voice recogniser
used has the special characteristic of being able to recognise commands
regardless of who the speaker is. This makes a tedious and time-consuming
training of the speech recogniser unnecessary. After approximately
1 hour's work with the system, a new user will be so comfortable
with it that he will be able to operate it freely.
Another
considerable advantage of the system's ability to function without
dependence on individual voice patterns is that the command structure
can be adjusted to new conditions in the shortest time. In order
to control the house fittings, EASY BY VOICE uses any available
house automation system, such as "Instabus" or EIB. In contrast
to many infrared-based systems, the connection to such a system
makes it possible to operate switches in all rooms and - as already
mentioned - to make queries about the status of installations in
other parts of the house. This means that switches can be operated
from any area of the house or apartment without the need for visual
contact to the object to be switched on or off. Home entertainment
equipment is controlled by a specially developed infrared transmission
module, which is able to save a practically unlimited number of
infrared codes.
Furthermore,
the module can combine individual functions to form a sequence,
for example, a single command would be enough to switch the television
off and the radio on. The user can let his imagination run wild
when combining commands, i.e. the sequences can be made as complex
as required.
A
traditional telephone connected to an equally traditional ISDN telecommunications
box is used to convey commands to the system. For this, the system
uses an internal SO bus (= internal ISDN cable). This means that
no telephone costs arise when the system is used within the house
or apartment. The "input equipment" preferred is a cordless telephone
corresponding to DECT standards, enabling the user to move freely
in the apartment. |
